REPAIRS
We repair all manner of books including family bibles, masonic bibles, antiquarian leather and cloth books, journals, family histories, old children's books, registers etc. Most of the books we repair hold great sentimental value to the customer, so we treat them with the utmost care. We also cater for all budgets.

TRADITIONAL METHODS
All of our methods and materials are the same as traditional bookbinders have used for many many years. We are also one of the few bookbinding restorers that can solder and repair any broken or missing brass work on your bible. We take the utmost care and pride in all of our work. Brass Clasp Repair Work
We are one of the only bookbinders in the UK that will repair and replace broken or missing brass clasps on your bible or book. All done by our Master Craftsman Phillip Woods by hand using silver solder and traditional methods.

ABOUT ME
My name is Phill Woods.
I established Woods Bookbinders over 30 years ago, after completing my 6 year apprenticeship in a hand craft bindery on the City Walls in the ancient city of Chester.
I bind books for people all over the UK. My work includes Family bibles, Lodge Bibles, Photo Albums, any antiquarian or old books, both in cloth and leather.
All of my work is done by hand, using traditional tools, materials and methods. I use only the finest goat and calf skins and have a vast collection of tools & materials to provide even the most sympathetic of repairs. I can repair and rebind books to suit all budgets. I have bound for many private collections and, institutions and royalty in my time. So, rest assured, your books will be in safe hands. My past and present clients include many television production companies, private collectors and famous celebrities. I have , in the past, worked for many large institutions including Universities, Churches and Councils all over the UK. I also work for individuals on a one to one basis from an old prize book of someone's grandparent to bibles and dictionaries. No job is too small.
